Your 2-day adventure begins today when we pick you up from your accommodation at the agreed time and drive you to the Poroy train station. The train will leave at 8:25 a.m., so you don’t need to get up too early. Your journey will take you to the small town of Aguas Calientes, at the base of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.
This train journey is famous for being one of the most beautiful in the world and is one of the best experiences to enjoy in Peru. You will be able to look through the windows and admire stunning natural views of the Andes and jungle landscapes all the way as you slowly descend to 2040m/6692ft.
After an incredible 4-hour train ride, you will arrive in Aguas Calientes and be greeted by your guide who will escort you to your hotel. There are no cars here, so you have to go everywhere on foot.
Around 1:30 p.m. m., you will enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the best restaurants in town and then you will have some free time this afternoon to explore as you wish. This town is very picturesque and is located in the middle of a deep green valley with a mighty river running through the middle. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to hang out in or you can take a hike to the hot springs where you can spend the afternoon relaxing before your big day tomorrow.
At 7:00 p.m. m., you will enjoy a delicious dinner and your guide will inform you about everything that will happen tomorrow with a detailed report. Make sure you go to bed relatively early, as you will be up before the sun tomorrow.
After breakfast at your hotel, you and your guide will head to Machu Picchu. You will need to get up before sunrise to ensure you beat the crowd and have a wonderful sunrise at Machu Picchu. You will walk a little from your hotel to take a bus that will take you on a 30-minute trip to the entrance of the Inca citadel. You will be there just before the sun rises and paints the city of the Incas in gold.
After being amazed by a unique beauty and taking your first pictures, our expert guide will take you on a 2-3 hour guided tour of the site. You will visit all the important parts of Machu Picchu and learn a lot from your guide. Once the tour is over, you have a few more hours to explore on your own or climb Huayna Picchu if you have booked it in advance. You will need up to 3 more hours to climb and experience more impressive views of the entire Inca city from the top of the Huayna Picchu mountain.
When you are ready to leave, it will be time to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. You will have time to select a restaurant of your choice to have lunch before boarding the return train. At the time indicated on your ticket, you will board the train that will take you back to Ollantaytambo. Here your driver will be there to pick you up and take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

What do I have to bring?
What to bring: Well-charged cameras, sunglasses, comfortable clothes and shoes, hat, sunscreen, repellent, extra power battery, jacket, small backpack with enough clothes to spend the night.
Can I store my luggage in your office?
Of course! During the trip, you can leave or store the things that you will not take on the trek at your hotel where you are staying. Most of these establishments have warehouses where they will store your things (at no extra cost). If you do not trust the place where you are staying, we will gladly store your belongings in our office.
