CHUCUITO, is a small town in the province of Puno, located about 18 km from the city of Puno on the edge of the Desaguadero and La Paz highway (Bolivia). It is located at 4,477 meters above sea level. Among its tourist attractions in Chucuito stands out: Inca Uyo, a rectangular construction with stone walls. At the time of the arrival of the Spaniards it was partially buried, under construction, the earth fill allowed access to the top of the wall of the stones that were being carved, a few meters from the construction there is an important group of stones in its carving phase. Recently, mushroom-shaped monoliths have been brought into the building, which some interpret as phalluses. Actually, it is a ceremonial temple dating from pre-Hispanic times.
ARAMU MURO, is a historical-mythological place located near the municipality of Juli, not far from Lake Titicaca. The Aramu Muru portal is in the shape of a 7 meter square carved into the rock. Until now, no serious archaeological study has been carried out that can reveal the date when the first settlers began to consider this place sacred. According to legend, the priest Aramu Muru would have entered the depths of the Earth passing through the Portal in order to hide the great golden disc of the Koricancha. Today the portal is visited by believers who follow the theory of the Great White Brotherhood.
